Harvest of Hope 2010

Almost a year late, but had to post these of last year's event.  We had such a ball!

Buy me some peanuts and crackerjacks…

This past weekend was a busy one for the new Davies home.  My sister (and Curtis) hosted two fantastic parties – Gourmet Group on Friday and a baby shower (with my mom and I) for my cousin Natalie on Sunday.  The themes were similar – gourmet picnic and vintage baseball.  Lots of red, white and blue, casual fare and loads of fun.  Here are a few pictures of the events….
 The shower...

Of course I can't not have a couple of Miss Haley and Mr. Keegan who were away visiting Grandma and Grandpa Comstock this weekend.  These are from a banana bread making experiment!

Have a great week everyone!

Five Months of Life....

Oh goodness…I can’t believe it has been over 5 months since my last post.  There is so much between here and there!  Our best, brightest and most wonderful news is, of course, the addition of our son – Keegan Michael.

He was born on the 27th of January and he has been such a blessing.

I can’t believe my heart has grown enough to love another person as much as I love Haley but, amazingly, it has.  We had many a fun visitor after Mr. Keegan was born, and I spent my maternity leave doing fun play dates, zoo days, lunches and showers.  Miss Haley adores her “Keegieman” and is such a nurturing big sister

 – and cousin!  Katherine Tinsley was born on the 7th of April, my parent’s anniversary.  She is the spitting image of her daddy and just a joy!

Before Miss Tinsley’s arrival, I was honored to host a baby shower for Lane.  As this had to be the best baby shower I ever had thrown, I thought about the theme for months and planned my little heart out.  In the end, I have to say it was fantastic…a great take on the Mad Hatter’s tea party.

Next came Haley’s second birthday.  We (I) decided to do a small party at a location other than our home as the babies baptism was just around the corner.  We did a small, family dinner the night of her actual birthday,

...and then a fun kids party and Playland.

I think Haley had a ball and still talks about her birthday (which she thinks should be every day).  A couple of weeks later we baptized Tinsley and Keegan in a dual baptism.

It was quite the event – 150 party guests, a couple kegs of beer, margaritas, champagne, tons of food and lots of fun.  God heard our prayers for good weather and the day turned warm and pleasant as the baptism approached.  We are so thankful to all our friends and family that were there to share the introduction of our children to our faith.

Our first trip as a family of four took us to Colorado where Chris played in the national D2 final four.  Though the outcomes of the games were not as we had hoped, we had a fantastic time with Mike and Kath and the team.  We even were able to visit with Simon, a dear friend who lives in Aspen and who we don’t see often enough.
Amongst all these events we had birthday parties, baby births, showers, swim classes, a new house for Lane and Curtis, a new babysitter for us, cabin time -
