Trips, Pigtails and The Kardashians????

Well, we know summer is in full swing when there is hardly time to take a breath. I was looking at our calendar the other day, trying to find an open weekend so we can get toghether with all Christopher’s extended family and I had to say we have a few open weekends in October and a few in November but let’s get something on the calendar now! And then I thought to myself…really…October…when did life become this hectic?

We’ve had a fun couple of weeks since my last post. As I mentioned previously, Christopher’s only Comstock aunt has decided to leave the State. We had never (shame on us) been to visit and thought now or never. She and her partner Kathleen were so gracious, arranged for our stay at a lovely hotel and treated us to a wonderful historic tour of Alhambra and Pasadena. We toured a lovely Green and Green (the builders not the building type apparently) mansion, shopped old town Pasadena and just had a wonderful time. Thanks Mary and Kathleen for a great visit!

Our Huntington cabin is finally open! Haley, my mom and I did a quick ovenight trip on Thursday. I love that cabin and had to smile thinking about all of the time Haley and I spent there last summer while I was on maternity leave. This trip, my mom and I made boysenberry and strawberry jam, visited the lake and had a nice little mini vacation. Can’t wait to be back up 4th of July!

Last Saturday we attendend a “surprise” 30th bithday party for one of my favorite cousins and friends, Brooke Camarena. The theme was Red Carpet and there was quite a cast of characters on hand for the evening – Al and Peg Bundy, The Pulp Fiction Crew, Miss Piggy, The Most Interesting Man in the World and, of course, The Kardashian Sisters. We had such a ball and Natalie and Joyce did such a great job with all the décor and yummy food. The cake was beautifully decorated! They even had a karaoke machine. What a night!

Miss Haley and I made monkey bread for Father’s Day this past Sunday. More dough ended up on her face then anywhere else!
Today I thought I’d try pigtails on our little girl. I couldn’t believe it actually worked!
We have loads coming up in the next couple of months (obviously if we are booked until October).  Looking forward to sharing with everyone!

Summer Swim Time

It seems we are always in our swim gear these days!  Miss Haley so loves the water and will just stand and look longingly at the pool until we relent and suit up!  A few weeks ago, she graduated from the mommy and me swim program at Jan Thomas.  It was such fun to be in the water with her and we both loved the class.

Proud Daddy

We've been up to the Bay quite a bit lately and Miss Haley has gotten to spend time with the Comstock grandparents.  Last weekend we had just a ball...a bridal shower, a birthday party and a nice dinner out with family!  Couldn't have asked for a better weekend.  Of course, I didn't take any pictures of the rest of the weekend ( need to be better at that) but here are some great ones from Cal Prosperi's 1st birthday party.  I promise Haley has several other swimsuits...this is just one of our faves!

We're off to Southern California this weekend to visit Christopher's aunt before she and her partner abandon the State in favor of Michagan.  Unitl next time....
